Played LIVE and recorded straight into Cubase 5 – ALL sounds/effects programmed by myself – reverb/delay + L3 courtesy of Waves. The demo showcases the Juno’s ability to put out classic arpegio’s, brass, bass and amazing pads. Classic Vintage Roland!

  1. maccagrabme:

    Sounds amazing with reverb.

  2. vintagesynthlover:

    Great sounds! I have juno-6, never gonna sell it.

  3. myrmur:

    Great!!!!!
    How di you get that amazing pad?

  4. DIGITALSCREAMS:

    with a sprinkling of magic….

    juno is such a simple synth – i remember using the pulse and saw waveform and chorus II setting – its all in the envelopes and getting the resonance/cutoff just right. I also used a lovely convolution (Waves IR1) reverb with a long tale and short delay (Waves 2Tap) to mask the fact I only had 6 note poly….

    As maccagrabme says….the Juno (most analog for that matter) sounds great with quality reverb/delay + abit of compression.

    Amazing its just 1 osc!!!!

  5. myrmur:

    Thank you!
    So did you not use any kind of modulation effect (chorus, flanger, etc) to get that pad?
    Only reverb and delay… great!!

  6. DIGITALSCREAMS:

    @myrmur

    Hi – I only used the onboard chorus (setting number 2) and a lush reverb (Waves IR1 convolution with a long tail) and a short Waves delay. Apart from that, and abit of Waves C1 compression/limiter no additional modulation was used.

    Its a fantastic sound – especially as its only 1 oscilator – how many VA’s could pull off that? :)

  7. ONEyeMarco:

    there isnt a midi port is there. what if i cant play that well.

    any workaround?

    thanks

  8. tokyojoe01:

    @DIGITALSCREAMS wow, I know the feeling. I had an immaculate Juno 60 and a d-50 that alas are gone.

  9. DIGITALSCREAMS:

    @ONEyeMarco

    Buy yourself a Kenton ProDCB (works with Juno 60 and Jupiter 8). Then you’ll get full midi control ! Play notes into your sequencer (cubase, logic etc) and then edit to your hearts content. Then press play and the computer will play back the Juno perfectly :)

  10. vargasfilm:

    Great demo! Seriously sounds great in your setup. Thanks for sharing this video.

  12. Analkalle:

    The pad in the end is the best Juno patch I’ve ever heard!

  13. DIGITALSCREAMS:

    @Analkalle

    thanks! the roland IR-309 filter is one of the nicest sounding filters EVER. Also used in the SH101, Juno 106 and Jupiter 8. It has lovely resonance….which you can hear pad sweeps…

  14. DIGITALSCREAMS:

    @vargasfilm

    Cheers! Glad you liked it.

  15. Analkalle:

    @DIGITALSCREAMS

    That for sure. I own the 60 and 106 and they’re just incredible, although the 106 ist kinda broken momentarily :(

  16. DigitaleAnalogue:

    WOW!!! I love Juno series. All time classic.

  17. adrianh63:

    Awesome!
    Love the «classic brass» very lush & pretty!
    Hoping ROLAND builds an upgraded / reproduction of Juno 60 or Jupiter series Synth in the future……..

  18. DIGITALSCREAMS:

    @adrianh63

    Thanks! I hope so too :D

  19. felmoe:

    wow so nice .. sounds very nice like tangerine dream charly from firestarter

  20. caressxofxsteel:

    such an incredibile sounding synthesizer! i love the demo, i love the synth. although i must ask were there any sort of external effects when you did this?

  21. DIGITALSCREAMS:

    @caressxofxsteel

    Thanks for your comments – the only external effects used were Waves IR1 Convolution Reverb, Waves 2-Tap Delay and Waves L3. I used Chord Cream Instrument cable (about the best there is) running into my Mackie Onyx 1220 Analog Mixer. No EQ was used on the mixer. Finally, I ran the audio into the back of my RME Fireface800 Audio Interface. Recorded in Cubase 5 @ 32Bit 96Khz. Hope that helps…

  22. caressxofxsteel:

    @DIGITALSCREAMS no problem! that helps alot actually! *sigh* i wish my fantom x7 wasnt going so haywire right now. the realtime control knobs are fried. they do not work at all anytime i try to use them for say opening/closing filters on patches, they will not trigger accordingly and then to add insult to injury once i so much as touch a key or whatever, the things that the control knobs are assigned to become possesed and they just have a mind of their own. its goin to the shop monday

  23. cameoculpa:

    You surely know how to get the best out of the good old Juno 60.
