@1itemp I bought the Reason 5 upgrade, and received the Record 1.5 upgrade for free since I was a previous Duo owner. I had to download the Record 1.5 software, because it did not come on a dvd. but once I registered Reason 5, I was emailed all the information for Record 1.5. the Orchestra package is sold separately, they are refills, not actual parts of the software. the 5.01 and 1.5.1 aren’t really updates, they are patches for r5 and r1.5 fixing bugs and things.
@1itemp you have to have reason 5 and record 1.5 installed before you can install the 5.1 and 1.5.1 updates.
when I was sorting out all the licensees on my dongle, i ran through a bit of trouble. It turns out I had to follow some steps in the order provided for things to work out right, which I avoided, being a man and all, thought I could do it my self.
@1itemp just to clarify, the 5.01 and 1.5.1 updates were not updates for helping to get things up and running, they simply patched bugs that were missed in beta testing and found by users.

The Orkestra Sound banks are suppose come with Reason – just so you know. Whether they sell the seperatly as well – i don’t know that – but i do know they come with REason and the Reason 4/5 Record 1.0/1.5 Duo – they did with my Reason 4 Duo.
@MrBrandonPeoples – you mention you were sorting out all the liscenses on your dongle – please expound on that… do you have your Reason 4 Record 1.0 license as well as the Reason 5 and Record 1.5 license on your igniton key?
@MrBrandonPeoples – Lastly – there was no «thought we were getting the boxed version» involved as i re-discovered this morning. We have the orignial copy of the at no charge offer to the new versions of Reason – record and the Duo – all of it.
Propellerhead clearily states if you purchased the Duo and you purhcased with in the time frame for the special offer. and i quote» if you have this… «then you should get this» and it shows a boxed full version for Duo owners.
@MrBrandonPeoples – cont… If and i quote Craig there is no «Duo upgrade» – whch there isn’t we confirmed – then all owners of the Reason 4 Duo that purchaced and took advantage of the special offer to the new version at no charge should reciece and would have to recieve the full new boxed version of the Reason 5 Duo. Not a Reason replacement cd as they obviously sent me
@1itemp you must mean the Orkester Sound bank, not «Orkestra,» the Orkester sound bank is not on a separate CD, it is on the same dvd as Reason, they instal together. you can access by creating a combinator, and clicking the load patch icon, then on left side of the pop up browser check the list to see if it is there.

«This is the Orkester Sound Bandk included with Reason. For details, see the Reason readMe file. This ReFill is required for the program to run. Enjoy!»
once again, the sound bank should be on the same dvd, if it’s not there the dvd has a defect or it installed incorrectly.
@1itemp also when you read about your «free upgrade with in the time period» you said they showed a picture of the Duo box. this was not misrepresentation, they only showed you a picture of which upgrade you would get so you could see for your self if you had the right choice. It did not state that the full boxed version would be sent out. If you are in the US propellerhead isn’t even the company that distributed the software. you need to contact line 6 (maybe canada too)
@MrBrandonPeoples – Actually it does state it and quite clearly – we have the original offer. What we should have recieved was indeed the new boxed version of the Duo ie: Reason 5/Record 1.5 Duo. If someone was going to draw a picture so it was clear the photo they included makes it clear. And states – «this is what you should recieve.» Ending confusion.
From what i understand since we ordered through the Pro shop directly – it didn’t come from Line 6 or if they can handle this type issue…?
Further more – if we had recieved what we should have – it would indeed solve 1/3rd the licensing issues we are having. At least thatis what we get from what the Propellerhead crew is telling us.
If Propellerhead refuses or stone walls us further – we will persue criminal charges against them with the Swiss and US Consumer protection authorities as well as the FTC and Internet Protection Authorities – Federal Authorities – anyone we can.
They’re not screwing us over with out a fight.

Perhaps a mistake in the data base – sure i’d buy that, with a what ever, if they came to us with it… But i’m making no excuses for Propellerheads actions anymore. Nor confused about what we should have recieved.
Imageline sent us a seriously good offer today – we’re taking them up on it till we get this straightened out one way or another. Either we get our package or …!!!Book ‘em Danno!!!

@MrBrandonPeoples – Hey thanks – and we will call Line6 and give them a shot at this – I have a lot of money invested in Propellerhead and refills (over $4k) as we figured out yesterday.
It’s good software – without question – just wish they valued us as a customer – and didn’t BS so much – let alone use that stupid hardware dongle for liscensing. if it wasn’t for the ignition key – they probably would never have heard from me. And it is tough walking away but Imageline listens and wants us.

@gunarsdeniskans agreed, but I’m afraid that propellerhead might make their software available in the new mac store, which would eliminate the pretty boxes. But then again, R&R would get more appreciation in the music software section, I guess it’s a win win

@PRAMBO811 for the «Reason 5 upgrade» to work, you need to own a previous version of Reason (4, 3, etc) if you don’t have a previous version, you will need to buy the full version.

@PRAMBO811 You can’t get Reason for that cheap but you can get FL Studio (Fruity Loops). search it on youtube and watch some videos on it, and then go to musiciansfriendDOTcom and search this: Image Line FL Studio 9 Fruity Edition.
