This is the first song I have made in Propellerhead’s new program, Record. I recorded the guitars using an Apogee Duet interface. Some of Propellerhead’s Reason 4 Library is also featured in the song–but Reason and Record work together in harmony. Enjoy. -Ampd This audio recording is sole property of The Ampd Music Group. @garoad Hey man! I apologize for the late response! My advice is to mess around with your signal paths, basically, try plugging your guitar into an effects board or a signal processor (maximizer…compressor), and THEN go into record. Mess around with the presets some, experiment with the EQ, and just tweak accordingly. But my guitar tone is something i’ve been developing over a while
If I get enough viewers/subscribers, I’ll start making tutorial videos..
hell…i should anyways
Cya!
@TheAmpdProject Cheers!
@garoad Personally, I find that when you overdub the guitars as usual, you make sure that both guitar tracks are stereo with the width on max. Then pan one about -80 and then the other to 80. It makes a decent full sound without the need for expensive gear.
@cw5406 I agree with this. I usually end up panning my guitars from anywhere between 45-90 on each end–it depends on the style of music. It’s a great technique that i’ve been using for a while
The guitars sound very thin, try Native Instruments Guitar rig. That’s an easy way to make digital guitars sound pretty full without a real rig. Apogee Duet is one of the cleanest interfaces out there so you can go full on with that thing.
I’m looking to get an Apogee Duet and a Macbook Pro for music creation. Are you satisfied with the Duet. As I can hear, it’s really good quality. And wath mac did you use to record this? By the way, nice job man!
This sounds like some Linkin Park stuff. Amazing job man! …Or woman, if that’s what you are
@theorn01 digital guitars? he’s playing a real one bro.
@muzikkid12 haha thanks dude! And I assure you, I am indeed a man (no offense to women–I love ‘em!)
Interestingly enough, I just started listening to Linkin Park this past week…and yet our music sounds somewhat familiar.
Take care!
@willregnier Jesus, I answered this question too late. And I have a black macbook 13inch. Honestly, any mac will do…Just make sure you have 4GB of ram loaded (that’s what I have)
500GB hard drive
2.2 GHZ
4GB Ram
and my system is always cleaned. = Success!
@theorn01 I actually have Guitar rig. I love it! I just didn’t use it for this song. It Is, however, being used in my new professionally produced music
…a friend of mine and I up in the Northeast are starting an intense dance centered project, that incorporates guitar rig into it.
And i’m loving the apogee! It was worth every penny.
@filmbot03 I really like this comment. Hell yeah!
@TheAmpdProject Thanks a lot my friend and good job again!
