@iohnoh – It is currently impossible to strip the music and leave just the vocal. One exception, when you have the music only version AND the normal version with vocals. Then you can phase cancel the two versions and you will be left with the vocal.
@imageline ohh crap. thanks anyway.
i dont get this, all those layered samples you used look pre-edited, i mean none of them «look» the same…
@raybbo – They don’t look the same because they are not. The vocalist sang the song 4 times. That’s why we need to align them a little because no-one is perfect at doing that.
that would make a sick chorus though on like a hip hop beat
So I record acoustic guitar and vocals with a simple coffee-shop-singer kind of sound. Do you think layering my vocals would sound better than having a single vocal track?
@250lespaul – Layering is useful on the chorus or times when you want to add some extra sizzle. Do whatever works
in a final mix would they be panned all the way like that or slightly?
@FunkMasterKRoc – Whatever sounds best. However most often in the 20-40% range unless you are after a special effect.
Hi, you are helping every one ! Can you help me please?? I’m useing Fl studio 9 with my pc window xp, Roland midi keuboard M-Box2 interface. i’m useing USB mic link direct to pc (not in interface) Problem is Latency !! when trying to record my voice its a few seconds latency. You make me feel dumb and awful at music. XD

awesome!
Hey, Have you guys seen the new Windows 7 powered StudioBLADE computer workstations? They’re perfect for running FL Studio and all your windows compatable plug-ins! Click the link below to see videos!
This really helped me, thanks guru
Am I the only one who thinks it sounded better as a single track?
How do you do that cutting thing at 2:39 I heard you say right alt right clicked cut but it doesnt work
@MsMacke123 – Right Alt + Right Shift + Left-Click (as shown in the annotation ).
wow very great tutorial thank you very much! What plugins did you use on the vocals?
@jditmer0 – None. The download link to the project is in the info
I can’t seem to get the Right Alt + Right Shift + Left-Click to work either. If I select the cut tool and press Right Alt + Left-Click then it will work. However, this is much more tedious then the simple hot-key shown in the video. Is this hot-key only available in the newest version of FL Studios?
@intocake – I think these shortcuts are FL Studio 9.1 onward.
I freakin love you…….
Thanks so much.!
Isubbed.!
god I’ve been looking for a tutorial like this for forever thank you!!!
@imageline I FIGURED IT OUT DAMN IT! You have to turn the TYPING KEYBOARD TO PIANO KEYBOARD OPTION OFF. I had wanted for the longest to memorize the short cuts to the cut and paste tools but didn’t until just now. The TYPING KEYBOARD TO PIANO KEYBOARD option is at the top of the screen in the toolbar area. It’s right above the metronome symbol and to the left of the 321 count down option.
